UAE weather alert: Thick fog to cut visibility across coastal and inland areas on Tuesday
NCM advises motorists to follow traffic safety instructions
DUBAI – The National Centre of Meteorology has issued a national weather warning after thick fog was forecast to affect several parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) early Tuesday.
According to the advisory, visibility is expected to drop sharply in both coastal and inland areas, creating hazardous conditions for motorists.
In some locations, near zero visibility is likely, making driving particularly risky during the early morning hours.
Fog alert
The NCM said the fog is set to develop from 12.30am and is expected to persist until 10am on Tuesday, January 13. Weather models indicate that moist air combined with light winds will allow dense fog to form over large stretches of the country, especially along the coast and across interior regions.
Authorities warned that these conditions could make it difficult for drivers to judge distances and spot other vehicles on the road.
Low visibility
Officials said that visibility could fall to extremely low levels at times, particularly during the peak hours of the fog event.
The NCM has repeatedly urged road users to be alert during such weather, as fog can reduce reaction times and increase the risk of accidents. Drivers have been reminded to follow official guidance, including reducing speed and maintaining a safe distance between vehicles.

Motorists travelling during the affected period have been advised to exercise maximum caution and strictly adhere to traffic regulations and safety instructions.
